第一節(用-5-1-1)薪俸 凡管理人員及執行 人員如總工程師工務監理分段工程師及 其助員視察員信號工程師副工程師營造 師等之薪俸及兼任本處事之電氣工程 師一部分之薪金製圖員監察員等之薪俸 並以上各項人員之助理員及書記生薪俸 均列入此節

第二節(用-5-1-2) 公費 所有關於養路處之 各種費用與第一項第二目第二節相同者 均列入此

E-5-I-I. Sularies–Under this head should be charged the salaries of all administrative and executive officers, such as Engineers-in-Chief, Superintend- ents of Way and Structures, Divisional and Dis- trict Engineers and their assistants, Inspectors, Signal and Assistant Signal Engineers, Architects and a portion of the salaries paid to Electrical Engineers who are not wholly employed in this Department, the salaries of draughtsmen, over- seers, &c., also of the subordinates and clerks employed in the offices of the above mentioned officers.

E-5-1-2. Allowances--Under this head should be charged all expenses similar to those specified under " E-1-2-2" so far so they pertain to the Engineering Department.

E-5-1-3. Office Expenses-Under this head should be

charged all expenses similar to those specified under“ E-I-2-3 ” and “E-I-2-4" so far as they

pertain to the Engineering Department.

E-5-2. Formation and Line Protection—Under this head should be charged the cost of repairs to and mainten- ance of earthwork in the formation of cuttings, embankments and station yards, grading and surfacing road bed, slopes of cuttings and embank- ments, sidedrains in cuttings and catch water drains, rockwork, retaining walls or other masonry, pitching or riprap for the protection of embankments or cuttings, breakwaters, cribbing, spurs, bulkheads &c. built to protect the track or embankments from washouts along the sea shore or banks of lakes and rivers; roads to railway buildings, stations, wharves
